Province in east China is a
perfect example of the affluence and intoxicating landscape of China.
Wuxi, one of its cities, tucked away in the Yangtze River Delta, is
known worldwide as a major contributor to the province in terms of
richness and charm. Covering an area of 4,650 square kms, the city has
a population of 4.359 million,
with 2.1306 million living in the downtown area. Under
its jurisdiction are seven districts-Xishan, Huishan, Binhu, Chong’an,
Nanchang, Beitang and New District, as well as two county-level
cities—Jiangyin
and Yixing.

HIGHWAYS:
Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, Wuxi-Jiangyin
Expressway, Wuxi-Yixing Expressway, Nanjing-Hangzhou Expressway,
Coastal Expressway, No. 312 National Highway and No. 104 National
Highway all run through Wuxi. Besides, the three major expressways in
China-Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway, and
Tongjiang-Sanya Expressway---merge in Wuxi.
RAILWAYS: Beijing-Shanghai Railway, Xinyi-Changxing
Railway (linking the north and south bank of the Yangtze River and
connected with the Eurasian Continental Bridge), and Beijing-Shanghai
Express Railway (under construction).
PORTS AND HARBORS: Shanghai Harbor (165km away) and
Jiangyin Port (38km away from the city proper), an international port
that has many berths with a handling capacity of over 10,000 tons.
WATERWAYS: The Yangtze River, The Taihu Lake,
Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Wuxi-Jiangyin Canal, Northern Wuxi Canal
AIRPORTS: Wuxi Airport (a domestic civil airport),
Shanghai Pudong International Airport (180km away), Shanghai Hongqiao
International Airport (120km away) and Nanjing Lukou International
Airport (180km away).
