OSISU
produces functional art that integrates local crafts and skilled
carpentry with contemporary aesthetics. Each model of OSISU is pure
passion, hand-crafted from materials left to waste at construction
sites or discarded from manufacturing processes. OSISU's creations
exemplify a commitment to environmentally responsible design while
meeting functional requirements. Design innovation adds value to
overlooked resources and extends life cycle of natural materials.
"Trash gets new lease on life" is
clearly displayed in PMC collection.
The materials used are thermal-pressed cartons (juice/milk/sauce
packaging materials). With meticulous layering of colorful
cartons,
PMC collection has a rich patina that resembles concrete work.
PMC Living
Taking advantage of the weight of
materials, the one square meter size
of PMC-Living consisted of only two legs. The legs made from recycled
cartons become the counterweight to the cantilever top-surface
handcrafted from laminated wood scraps.
ETCETERA
Etcetera is a collection of
lifestyle products and accessories handcrafted from
diverse materials. All resources used in design come from
various sources
(e.g., offices, manufacturing plants, recycle facilities as well as
construction
sites) but share a distinctiveness; they are salvaged materials which
have been
transformed by the hands of tailors, carpenters and artisans to achieve
a modern appearance yet having a surprisingly familiar aesthetic.
MEDICINE CABINET
Made entirely from perforated
chipboards reclaimed from old televisions, Medicine Cabinet is truly a
recycled sideboard. The glass shelves inside are
also cut from construction waste. Its simple square shape is enriched
by
perforated dots and the Red Cross at the center.
LINI
Contemporary
vernacular design handcrafted from
reclaimed teak off-cuts, LINI collection is candid, playful and an
engineering challenge. The richness of LINI collection is in its
delicate profile and its natural shades of teak—capturing subtle
variations within the overall geometric form. LINI collection is urban
and modern yet remains earthbound.
ZUU
Contemporary
vernacular design inspired by striding motions and nature elements. Zuu
Collection is crafted from a wide variety of materials such as teak
scraps, fiber boards and tree roots; all of which resemble animals or
plants and therefore are whimsical in design while remaining
utilitarian in application.
