"Since
1988, Venture Advisory Services has been a consulting service assisting
people with disabilties to start small businesses. Over the past 12
years we have worked with almost 700 people with disabilties in
Washington State -over half of whom have started a small business.
Venture began as a project of the Washington Coalition of Citizens with
disAbilities, and through a series of permutations, now is a sole
proprietorship, home-based consulting business (owned and operated by
myself, Kathy Reichgerdt). The service evolved as a business rather
than a program of a non-profit since the best way to fund services
turned out to be to work as a vendor to Division of Vocational
Rehabilitation, Services for the Blind, VA, etc."
